The City of Redding and the City of Chico have been named in separate lawsuits by an environmental group known as Cal Sport Fishing. Apparently, they research records obtained by the state looking for high numbers for contaminants allegedly running off public sites such as Transfer Stations, Landfills, and Airports into waterways. They name the entity in a lawsuit and then try to settle before filing. We were just given a demand in the $100,000 range.
Anyway, has any other entities had dealings with this group? Our City Attorney is looking for information and possible defense mechanisms...
